Sabina Janciauskiene Wallmark has completed her PhD at Lund University, Sweden. She is the molecular pulmonology research group leader/professor at the Department of Respiratory Medicine, Hannover Medical School, Germany. Her research group specializes in protease-anti-protease translational research and studying the mechanisms controlling acute and chronic inflammation with particular emphasis on the multiple roles played by a1-antitrypsin in chronic inflammatory diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer, diabetes, inflammatory bowel diseases, skin diseases and liver diseases, among others. We are specifically interested in ?1-antitrypsin protein as an immune-modulatory therapeutic. She is a Scientific Advisory Board member in Alpha1 German patient association and a member of European Reference Network “Rare Liver” and EASL registry “AATD-related liver disease”, Member of The European Alpha-1 Research Collaboration (EARCO) network and a Member of the German Respiratory Society She has over 200 publications that have been cited over 6900 times, and her publication H-index is 46 and has been serving as an editorial board member of reputed Journals, published several book chapters.
